Huna Philosophy

1. IKE - The world is what you think it is
2. KALA - There are no limits.
3. MAKIA - Energy flows where attention goes
4. MANAWA- Now is the moment of power.
5. ALOHA - To love is to be happy with
6. MANA - All power comes from within
7. PONO- Effectiveness is the measure of truth.

These are the Seven Spiritual Principles which create the core philosophy of Hawaiian Huna.

As the world attempted to eradicate the teachings of ancient cultures of Native peoples around the globe, Hawai'i's wisdom was hidden in the chants of the Ancient Ones and the Hulahula (Hula dances).

In 1820, when the missionaries arrived from Boston a law was passed making it a crime punishable with imprisonment or fine to practice 'superstitious or deceitful methods' (cures). Another section of the law made special provisions for  the 'kahuna' (or one claiming to be a kahuna) - doubling the prison time and making the fine $1,000 rather than the $100 levied on the 'non-kahuna'.

In 1979 the US Federal Government passed the Native American Religious Freedoms Act - and slowly Hawaiian Huna is being reclaimed and shared.

Keala has been blessed with learning from several teachers and passes on that blessing to her students.

According to kahuna legend, this ancient symbol radiates an energy that increases happiness and good fortune.  The circles represent unconditional love (Aloha), the branching lines represent divine power (Mana), and the total of eight circles and lines represents abundant good (Pono). The symbol is said to be a channel for the blessing of whatever location it is in and whoever is in sight of it.  We bring it back to help transform the world.  Copyright 1984 - by Huna International.
